May. 2nd, 2005 12:26 pmMuch of today will be spent aware of the fact that no, I am not actually wearing my glasses, and yes, it is uncomfortable. Have taken panadol in an attempt to deal with both the ache behind my eyes and my sore ankle. So far it hasn't kicked in. I'm not entirely sure what to do today. Read a lot, probably. Avoid my crossstitch as it's very detailed and will give me a headache to do. Sort out the invitations for the LARP. Cover books. Have done two loads of washing already and made a decent start on tidying my room. My desk and the shelf behind me could do with a little more attention and the floor could do with vaccuming, but other than that, there's not much to do.
I have already dropped of my glasses at the optomitrist before 9.30am, mailed off Dad's birthday present to him and gotten highly distracted with books at Whitcoulls. I went in there with the clear intention of buying a hole punch, as I seem to wear out mine in a couple of years and it's time to replace it, but walked out with the holepunch and five books. The sale table is a dangerous thing. Still, for the grand total of thirty-three dollars, I purchased: A hardcover copy of The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold, to replace my well-worn trade-paperback ($15); a hardcover copy of Triss by Brian Jacques to continue my Redwall collection <$7); a paperback copy of The Outlaws of Sherwood by Robin McKinley for obvious reasons($3); a paperback copy of The Harp of the Grey Rose by Charles De Lint, because I'm interested in reading De Lint ($3); and a paperback copy of The House of Gaian by Anne Bishop, which will go to
maudlinrose seeing as it was $5 and I have a copy already. I will cover these this afternoon and rearrange my bookcase.
Am also downloading songs by The Arrogant Worms, which J. was playing at
bl9_knt's party the other night. I liked them and they're just a bit different.
