Work and stuff
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:06 pmPeople, particularly
maudlinrose should check out this link. Very funny for those of us who have read far too many romance novels.
I finished work at 6.30pm today. Fortunately, I'm feeling a lot better today or else that wouldn't have been possible. Really, M. and I finished just before 5.00 (first time all week!), but we were called back to help some others. I can't really complain, considering a number of people pitched in to help C. and myself yesterday evening. Actually, L. found us earlier in the day and she asked why we were so slow yesterday. She asked if it was my buddy (C.) or something else. I explained that I hadn't been feeling well and got a scolding. Not for being slow, but for not letting them know I wasn't feeling well so they couldn't take that into account. I consider myself chastised. Not something that I've ever really thought about - I'm too used to trying to work through illness.
Last night was the first time all week when less than 100 rooms were sold. However, the Neil Diamond concert is this weekend and we're booked solid. Good for the hotel, busy for us staff. I'm looking forward to my next day off. That would be Tuesday. I will have worked six days in a row. I also have Saturday and Sunday pencilled in, but if we're busy I'll be called in and I don't know if I can be bothered. I would kinda like two days off in a row. And four more staff next week, yay!
My brain wants to stop working. I think I will let it and try and find the fic that
maudlinrose reccommended me last night. I think I can still remember the author's name. I want new fic to read. Or new books. Oh, and for those of you interested, the Anne Bishop book Dreams Made Flesh is in Bizzy Bees, $40, trade paperback. I'm not sure that I want it trade paperback, but I definately want to read it all.
