I had a lovely surprise outside my bedroom door yesterday morning, and for once, I don't mean that in the sarcastic way, either. Back at Easter, at Icon, I talked with Barbara of Barbara's Books and mentioned that if she saw it, I would really like a copy of Stitch In Snow, and she said she would add it to my list of books to look out for. And I promptly forgot all about it, except when C. and myself were talking books, and more specifically, Anne McCaffrey.

There was a package outside my door when I came back from my shower. Stitch In Snow, an old romance by Anne McCaffrey that the Hamilton Public Library used to have, was in it. *bouces* It's great. And even better, although the copy is twenty years old, it's in really good condition.

The other day Pascoes called me to let me know that they couldn't find a replacement chain anywhere in NZ, and would I like to come in to their store, and they'd replace it for one of the same value. Obviously, I picked a good time to give up on the original chain, because they were having a sale, and I picked a nice one out of a 50% off rack. I also got 50c change.

Talked online with [livejournal.com profile] bl9_knt last night. Good to hear from him; he sounds as though he's doing well. He has his pictures up online now (will let him link you to them), and as part of the 9 pages, there are pictures of Greek vases in the British Museum. I was drooling.

Am going to vaccum and go out. Also, food. Food would be good.
