Aug. 3rd, 2005 05:56 pmI am somewhat annoyed with my gas supplier at the moment. As they mentioned in an open letter sent to use nearly a month ago, they have been doing some maintenance in the area, checking connections and suchlike. The gas would be disconnected for a short period of time, but they need house access before they turn it back on.
Of course, they dropped by today. The time on the card they left says 15:00 hours, so no one was home, of course. I was the first one home, around 5pm, got the note, called them, declined their offer to have me pay for the reconnection, since it wasn't our fault in the first place, and eventually got it sorted out. They're coming around tomorrow to reconnect it, and either someone needs to be home, or they need a key left out for them. In the meantime, it appears to be microwave food and cold showers. And I have people coming around tonight for cell, and I can't have the lounge warm for them.
One of the reasons I'm annoyed, of course, is that I actually planned on cooking tonight. Mushroom stirfry, mmmm.
And omg, I saw the box for an enormous TV today at work. The sort of TV that costs $13,000 and is 50 inch. The length of the box was nearly as tall as I am! And the builder dude said that he'd had to install 60 inch one earlier in the week. But! So huge!
