Little Creature and Dream Deer
Dec. 20th, 2005 06:10 pmQuite a few of you know that I rather like Ursula Vernon's artwork, to the point of dragging various people through her website whenever someone shows the slightest bit of interest (usually by showing them Gothbat), and I have the time. I also follow her blog.
And recently, she posted these two pictures: random toy sketches and more creature sketches, sort of inspired by My Little Pony, and kinda twisted into evil cuteness. I was irresistably reminded of Fitz Bunny from Brunswick. That sort of cute.
So for the last couple of days, she's been working on an illustrated short story, Little Creature and the Dream Deer, and I simply had to recommend it. It's very cute, in a vaguely gothy kind of way, and if she ever decides to do a print run of it, I am so getting it. And trying to talk Bizzy Bees into ordering some.
Have had an extremely relaxing day. Stayed up late again, slept in, did nothing, but some vague tidying, although I'll start the filing soon. Drank lots of tea. I'm also going to recover the Mary Renault books I bought from the library sale, since I've taken the old covers off, and the dust jackets need protecting. I feel somewhat like I'm going to Hamilton tomorrow afternoon, rather than Thursday, although I know that's not the case.
