Not being a huge fan of brownie edges, I manage to completely miss the point of this brownie pan and are disturbed by it instead. I was under the impression that one of the good things about having a square pan was the balance between edge and center.
Happy birthday,
tamarillow, I hope you've had a fantastic day. Enjoy your toe socks from your sister.
In celebration of the above, we went to Nicolinis for dinner, which was as fantastic as ever. As previously discussed at my last JC meeting, I managed to resist the creamy based pasta and went for the seafood special, which was a variety of seafood (scallops, mussels, squid rings and a prawn) in a tomato sauce with spagetti. It was very good. I completely failed on the dessert though and got tiramisu.
Now, having only ever had store bought tiramisu before, I was under the impresison that it was about half/half cream and sponge. Not this one. The two slices of sponge put together would scarcely be a centimetre thick and the rest of the concoction (which was about 10 cm high) was cream. I couldn't eat all the cream. I don't think I ate half the cream. I almost felt sick. We really need to remember, next time we go there, to do what we did last time and share a dessert or two between the three of us.
And I have received another early birthday present. I knew I was getting this one; I gave Alessan the link and more or less said "would you like to get me this 2008 calendar for my birthday". And he has and it arrived today and it makes me happy. I in 2009, I will get the Pirate Tampons one laminated and it can hang in our bathroom. Thank you very much, I am delighted.
Am still coming up with theme ideas for a party. Having failed at coming up with something based around the fact that I'm turning 25 (I refuse to have an 80s themed party).
maudlinrose suggested lords and ladies of the underworld, which is a possibility. Although I'm considerably more tempted to say: come as your favourite character; roleplaying by preference, but other media if you don't game or don't like any of your roleplaying characters. I suppose that means I'd have to find a 17th century court dress from somewhere...
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have been given the go-ahead to ease back into frisbee and sport by the physio. She reckons my ankle is about 75% and I reckon my fitness is at 50%, if that, so they can improve together. It was really good to play again. I noticed how hideously unfit I was much more than my ankle; did land slightly wrong once, but not enough to hurt beyond a point or two off. Won't be at practice on Saturday what with lunch preparations but should get back into things thereafter (except for Tuesday 25 September, whereupon I attend a cooking class at the Mediterrean Food Warehouse).
Happy birthday,
