Well, I've done it again. I seem to be remarkably successful at calling my parents just as a rugby game is about to start. Short conversation. I was mainly checking to see if they'd managed to contact G., the family friend who I had dinner with on Wednesday.

See, G. was planning to fly out of Wellington around 3pm and go to Opera in the Quarry, some limited ticket fundraiser thing that she was given a ticket to for her birthday for a charity that she really supports. However, as I suddenly realised around noon, the fact that the airport was closed today meant that she's stuck here. There was fun running around, trying to contact each other with dying cellphones and getting all my work done.

Airport was closed today. And we had a full house last night. This means that all the people who were leaving us today... well, some of them are coming back. In fact, we had one gentleman check out, return an hour later, ask for the same room back and go to bed. He was a late check out in the end. Had twenty rooms to do and we had to get all of them done because they all needed to be available to sell. And whatever I'm saying is going around in circles now so I think I'll stop.

Rugby. Right. It's this thing I do. I call home whenever a game is about to start or is halfway through. I've done this almost ever since I moved out of home. It's becoming legend, sort of. First thing Dad says to me is: "I wondered if it would be you?" Seeing as, of course, I always call at that time. I didn't even realise a game was on.

I'm just babbling now. My feet hurt. I've worked really hard today (and I have Easter off!) and my shoes have grown less comfortable through the day. Not the soles - they're still really good. It's more the fact that various places on my feet are turning this interesting red colour (or white after I've been wearing them for a long time) and aren't blisters. Unfortunately, there's this spot on my toe that doesn't feel so good. Kinda hurts a bit. I've put savlon on them, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I might go write LARP stuff now. We have a date set for it and it's called Once Upon A Time... May 14. Which means that I can't participate in the bedmaking competition after all. How unfortunate.

EDIT: The bagpiper down the steps is practising or something. I can hear the music and keep thinking that it's my cellphone. He's sometimes practising on his deck when I get home in the evening. It's quite nice to listen to.
