Feb. 8th, 2005 08:01 pmHaving cleaned most of the flat (I'm currently ignoring the small pile of dishes in the kitchen and my dressing-table), I turned my attention to my bookcase.
Now, seeing as I finished cataloguing the fiction just recently, having decided how I wanted to file the anthologies with no clear editor, I turned my attention to the non-fiction. The four or five books that I have which already possess a Dewey Decimal Number on the spine were easy enough. The rest require a bit more work.
Oh, I can file them into their basic three digit number, thanks to this handy online thing, but I can't do the decimal points on the end. I can probably do all of mine okay, except for the mythological dictionaries... I'm not sure where to put them. I imagine what I'm going to end up doing is looking each book up and seeing if someone else has worked out the number.
What's really annoying is that most of the older books are missing ISBN numbers. I've got no idea when ISBN numbers started being used, but books that don't have them have a blank space in that column where numbers should be and this irritates me.
There isn't more Schism. *sighs*
