(no subject)

So maudlinrose cut my hair tonight. It's now a couple of inches shorter, which feels more than it actually is. It's not so straggely on the ends now, but it still feels kinda weird. Not lighter, in any sense of the word. I can't actually tell that anything is gone by the weight. It's just sitting at the wrong place on my back. It should be somewhere around my butt, not at the small of my back. Ah, well, no doubt I'll get used to it.

Watched CSI: Miami and NCIS with jessikast, maudlinrose, and C., and maudlinrose made lammington type things. They were absolutely delicious. Very moreish, but too much to have more than one at once. I nearly asked maudlinrose to marry me, but managed to remember that we'd already agreed something about being fifty and single, so I didn't. Besides, I had my mouth full, and had the urge controlled by the time I'd swallowed. Also - I've probably been reading too many romance novels lately.

Went to Alessan's 40th last night with C. He seemed to like his birthday present, which is nice. Got him a chef's branding iron from Japan, and apparently the lettering on it says 'dragon', and that is just cool. We figure he can use ink and paper instead of fire and food, and hey, conversation piece.

I am starting to plan my birthday party, since I actually want a party this year. My place, Friday September 30, from about 8.30pm or so. I'll confirm it later, after I've checked with all my flatmates, but I can't imagine anything changing.

I have Tuesday and Saturday off this week. At least I get to sleep in on Tuesday. The DCM bookfair is on on Saturday, and I plan to spend less than one paycheck. :D

I shall go read fic now. Or books.
