In other news, we got the results of the assessment this morning.

The exec is really pleased with how well we did, and that there was only one small thing that Housekeeping deals with that needed doing. Some small things from around the hotel (needing more plants in the drive way, for example) were also picked up on. If they're fixed, and we have a smaller reassessment this year, we get five, or we wait until next year for the next reassessmnet.

Unsurprisingly, on the heels on a few stressful days came another stressful day, as the forty rooms that we thought we wouldn't have to do were unexpectedly occupied when a plane was diverted to Wellington, and the passengers had to spend the night at the Bolton. So, eighteen rooms today, most of them checkouts, and I finished shortly after five.

However, everyone stopped at midday to get together for lunch and for a few speeches from Kathy (the General Manager), Zlarta, and Warrick (the owner), mostly saying thank you, and what a wonderful job we had all done, that we're wonderful, and as a team, Housekeeping impressed the inspectors, because we were polite, cheerful, and they sensed we were enthusiastic about working there. Also, there were presentations, rewards for the best bathroom, the best bedroom, and for the supervisor for the best rooom in general.

And much to my shock (especially since I hardly remember doing the room), a bathroom I'd done in 906 was the best bathroom! So I was presented with a bottle of wine, which I'll probably open at my birthday, because that sounds like a good use for it. So that was a nice surprise.

I am also, or rather my parents are being, tremendously organised about Christmas. Dad booked a flight up for me last night, and even volunteered to pay for it, so I travel up on the evening of the 22nd, and I've asked off from the 23rd - 31st inclusive. Christmas, family, and depending on what happens and my organisational skills, maybe go and visit thesane.

EDIT: Also, if anyone knows where I can find a particular Smallville fic involving Clark, Lex, and a corset, I would really appreciate a link being thrown my way. I read the fic a couple of weeks ago, want to reread it, and I've been hunting for it for nearly a week now without success.

LATER: Obviously, writing about my desperation was the key to finding it. I have found it, will read it, and know exactly where to get it from next time. I imagine I'll also get around to linking it in thezangre. I'm glad I spent the time hunting for it tonight, especially with the end success. I'm so going to regret this in the morning, though.
