Oct. 29th, 2005 12:35 pmIt occurs to me that I haven't actually posted for a while. I've been out, I've been reading, I don't think my life is that interesting. Since
lyraethe loaned me manga, I've been reading that, and thoroughly enjoying it. I moved them from my desk to a shelf this morning as part of the vague tidying thing I had going, and I've borrowed quite a bit. But I have enjoyed it, so it's all good.
Am currently attempting to reread The Golden Transcendence which I may or may not be on record as saying is the screwiest book I've ever read, but it's certainly close. It messes with the head enough. I've read it before, am on page 40, and already there are entire sections that confuse me. I guess I don't like hard SF so much then.
Saw
thesane this week, as she and her boyfriend were slowly driving back from Taupo, where they camped next to
shoeless_girl. They seemed good, anyhow. Had fun at their thing in Taupo. And I have a shiny new dress! It's a cotehardie, which
thesane made, and I would link a picture, but I haven't found a picture of one that looks quite right yet. I also have corset-making fabric now, which means I actually have to get around to making it. Blue, for the Daughter. I'm not planning on stupid amounts of embroidery, though, and will probably finish the page of my dragon that I'm working on first.
I am missing music. My crappy old CD player doesn't quite cut it, and I don't have a large enough variety of CDs to keep using that. The sound on my computer isn't working for either of the sets of speakers that I have. I've tried all the holes in the back, not just the one that usually works. I checked whethere or not I'd accidentally muted it (I hadn't), and have no idea what might be wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong, and what I can do about it?
And very soon, I shall be off to see the ballet with C., and Ishita from work, and then the Creswick Tce. Halloween party tonight. Fun times.
