The approach of the end of an era
Jun. 13th, 2006 10:20 pmI made my boss's day really hard today. First, I handed in my resignation this morning, effective as of Sunday 18th June. Then I went home at lunchtime, being afflicted with the most hideous period pain, which necessitated a hot water bottle, going to bed and napping for a couple of hours, and I don't normally bother doing the last two.
But still! My resignation is all handed in! I'm leaving! It's really real! I think it's 13 more working days to go, or something like that. Except it's really one less, because I'm going out to lunch with my new team on the 27th. It's all very exciting.
I think I had something interesting to say, but really I don't.
C. made the most divine roast beetroot thing for dinner tonight. It had beetroot and oil and garlic and shallots and brown sugar, and it was absolutely wonderful. She can make it again whenever she wants.
Although, apart from roast veges and generic casseroles, we don't tend to repeat meals too often. I think I've made the same thing a couple of times so far, but usually I consider it a challenege to make something for dinner that I've never made before, or at the very least, haven't made in this flat. Since I'm home tomorrow, I may end up doing a casserole. We didn't buy enough veges at the last shop, so we're down to half a pumpkin, a parsnip, shallots, pickling onion, and potatoes. It doesn't matter how many mushrooms we buy, we always use them all.
I might go and reread the two posts so far at
awful_bliss and go to bed. Mmmm, bed.
