Short passes, people. Short passes!
Mar. 25th, 2007 10:12 pmI have had a fantastic weekend. I got hardly anything done that I meant to - ooops, I haven't made coconut cake! - but instead played frisbee and baked and hung out with people and played more frisbee. It was great!
Friday night I went to Kazu with some workmates, as one of my team members is being transferred to Auckland. I had intended to meet up with
maudlinrose first for her drinks to celebrate no longer being at IAG, but when I got to the place she said to meet, I couldn't find anyone and with no other information and no money on my cellphone, I wandered down to Kazu and ended up having quite a good time. Sake, it turns out, is really quite nice, as is yakatori done foodstuffs. I would go there again. I would even bring other people there with me. I missed two Mairangis home (one on purpose, one by accident) and caught a Wilton.
Saturday morning there was frisbee practice, which I was late to, followed by lunch at
atomic_susan's and then F and I came back up here and made cupcakes (lemon, poppy seed and cranberry) and gingerbread. Thereupon followed another trip back down and one up again and I ended my evening by watching five episodes of the Dresden Files, which, I find, I like better than the books, and chatting to Alessan.
This morning I managed to get up in enough time to watch another episode of the Dresden Files before going to church, doing the after-service coffee and going to the Ultimate tournament. It was a fantastic friendly atmosphere and I enjoyed playing with people I haven't played with before and people I have played with before. I've identified some areas I really need to work on (marking and getting free from my marker) and am generally pleased with how well my forehand is going. I even got some (well, one question) of my homework done!
I haven't done much this evening. Came home, checked my emails, got things ready for Monday a little and watched the only episode of Dresden that I possess and hadn't yet seen. I am currently reading Melusine by Sarah Monet, which I have read before and liked.
