Moving on

I am going to abandon my LJ and stick to Dreamwidth. I won't crosspost and I'm certainly not going to be actively following LJ anymore— I still haven't decided whether I will actually delete my LJ. This is the final impetus for my final move.

I'm rubbish at updating regularly, despite promising myself I'll be better each year. Maybe next year?

Feel free to subscribe etc - I'll almost certainly grant access.

I want to post about the Star Trek movie with spoilers and lj-cut is failing me, so this is a test.

Comrademojo just accused me of having a game crush on Alice. He's probably right. I think it's the boots and her voice.

I discovered several things about the game tonight: first my copy is missing the Sanity Meter on the left side of the screen. This is rather important in fights, since it's Alice's health level. I can see the Will Meter on the other side of the screen, which is also important; second how to use quick save and quick load, which means I don't have to restart the level every single time I die. In a level that requires a lot of coordination, this is important; third - I forget, so it can't be that important.

EDIT: I have also updated my lj layout - felt time for something new and fresh. Not sure what will be my default icon in the end, although this Alice one goes scarily well with the new colour scheme...

[livejournal.com profile] tearofabasilisk has created an A'Tuin moodtheme for livejournal, which I have snagged with much thanks and amusement. I think it's neat!

Exams is over, which means I can spend as much time as I want at FreeRice, a highly addictive guess-the-meaning word game which donates 10 grains of rice through the UN for each correctly guess word. I've no idea about how effective it is, but it's lots of fun. Last Saturday I donated over 18000 grains of rice. Haven't done that much since but probably will again.

Introduction to Law Office Practice was okay. I'm fairly sure I've passed but not of how well. I have been rather half-heartedly studying over the last few days, easily coming to the point whereupon I just didn't care.

Am going straight to the Creswick Tce. Halloween party from a church function farewelling a pastor tomorrow night. This should be interesting.

And Heroes is still eating my brain.

Time to go do some much-missed handwork.

Changed my journal layout again. I don't do this very often - I think this is the fourth style I've had, and while I like it, it will also take some adjustment. And probably a new default icon. The big banner across the top is currently disturbing me more, but I only made the change about ten minutes ago, and usually, I don't have that banner. I can't remember how to get rid of it. I'm not sure I want to. Don't want to inflict it on other people though - [livejournal.com profile] ataniell93, how do I do that again? Am I inlficting it on other people?

I have done useful things today. I put a load of washing in the machine before I left for work, and the dryer on (with [livejournal.com profile] maudlinrose's washing in), I went to work, and you know, actually worked. And I came home and I cleaned.

The bathroom is now all shiny and smelling of chemicals. My room is all clean (apart from the carpet since I haven't vaccumed yet) and the dishes are done. But in my room - I even dusted and put paper on the top of the valances over the windows. I wiped down my monitor screen (with water) and cleaned windows and mirrors.

Then I tried to watch Batman Forever, gave up, and watched an episode of Jeeves and Wooster while beading my sister's sampler. I'm none to fond of beading, and the beading needle is one of the reasons why. Unlike my usual embroidery needles, this one is sharp. And flimsy. I could bend it in a U shape with two fingers without trying hard if I wanted to (which I don't - they bend out of shape enough as I use them), which you can't do with normal needles.

The new titles for my journal come from three songs of Era which I rather like.

I get to sleep in tomorrow, and then it's all go for another week or so, since my mother arrives in Wellington in a week. I'm looking forward to it, but even more so, I'm looking forward to the second weekend in October, when all I have planned is a hair cut!

See? Look what jessikast made for my lj. Isn't it pretty? And elegant? She makes very good lj avatars and other photoshop pictures.

Look what maudlinrose made me do to my lj! Isn't it pretty? I had nothing to do with the colour choices (except for saying that I like green), and now it is all done up and pretty. Thank you, maudlinrose. :)
