Exams are over. Assuming I passed everything (and I think I've either passed comfortably or failed completely), that is it. I am done. I find out if this is true the week before Christmas.

Actually, the main drafting section of the exam (25 marks) was quite fun - perusing and making amendments (with those dammed reasons) on an Agreement for Sale and Purchase of a Business which was of such quality that the only place all the names were correct was the last page of the document (which is not part of the contract but there for everyone's convenience as to contacts). Our lecturer got us to do one of these earlier in the year and I'm really glad he did.

Exams were on Monday and Thursday, so the OOS has not been aggravated.

It's been so hard to look past today that I really don't know what to do with myself. Getting through October to Labour Weekend and through exams has been the focus for so long that there's now a giant gaping hole which my life is supposed to fill. I don't recall this from last year, although I think we were starting flat hunting at that point, so the search would have filled the gap, I guess.

The last time I really remember being like this this clearly was coming out of Bursary (2000 - so long ago) and at that point I only had a few days between end of exams and going to the US for a month - hardly any time at all to anticipate it, but I just could not look past those exams to do so. At least this time I have four whole days to myself before I go back to work.

...at least the weather was suitable for my denim jacket. I wore fingerless gloves for the first half, too. Easier on the hands.

Exams tomorrow. Despite my almost complete lack of study, I don't actually feel underprepared for these, although I doubt I will feel that way when sitting Estates tomorrow afternoon. Still, at least Property is in the morning and I have a couple of hours between the two, so can cram some more, if I need to. I have at least gone through and highlighted relevant legislation, something I haven't done for any other exam.

Read By Blade and Cloth by Helen E. Davis this evening (recced by [livejournal.com profile] sartorias) and quite enjoyed her take on Elves. It was a bit patchy in parts and occasionally skipped perspective very quickly, but in some scenes it was clearly deliberate. Worth US$5 for the e-book. There were three sample chapters available and then I wanted to finish it.

The wind is howling outside and it will be cold enough for me to be comfortable wearing the jacket I have worn to almost every exam since third form; my heavy denim one with big pockets and autumn tapestry inserts that I got from Orlando in September twelve years ago when I was thirteen. We got it in a large, so I wouldn't outgrow it as fast and I remember it costing US$90 - I think I paid half, although that bit is unclear. It's tradition now that I at least take it to every exam I sit.

I have both cats in my room at the moment, which is a rare thing. When I went out before, Tobias looked lonely, so I brought him in, and now he's stretched out against the wall by the door. Jemima has moved from being on my bed to sitting directly next to the heater. This is Jemima's space; Tobias wasn't allowed in here when he was a kitten so she would have somewhere that was hers. But they haven't fought - well, Jemima hissed a bit, but that's hardly uncommon - and now Tobias is taking a bath. Maybe they're tired as well.

Picked a sprig of blossom from the apple tree the other day and stuck it in a small vase. I know it's flowering, but I've never seen water go down in a vase so quickly! I have to refill the emptied vase about twice a day: morning and night

[livejournal.com profile] tearofabasilisk has created an A'Tuin moodtheme for livejournal, which I have snagged with much thanks and amusement. I think it's neat!

Exams is over, which means I can spend as much time as I want at FreeRice, a highly addictive guess-the-meaning word game which donates 10 grains of rice through the UN for each correctly guess word. I've no idea about how effective it is, but it's lots of fun. Last Saturday I donated over 18000 grains of rice. Haven't done that much since but probably will again.

Introduction to Law Office Practice was okay. I'm fairly sure I've passed but not of how well. I have been rather half-heartedly studying over the last few days, easily coming to the point whereupon I just didn't care.

Am going straight to the Creswick Tce. Halloween party from a church function farewelling a pastor tomorrow night. This should be interesting.

And Heroes is still eating my brain.

Time to go do some much-missed handwork.

It has been a glorious weekend, weather-wise, aside from the showers on Saturday afternoon. I have done much study and am thoroughly sick of the ILAC method, the New Zealand Constitution, the Contractual Remedies Act 1979, Donoghue v. Stevenson and all the rest. Studying outside in the sun was nice. Tomorrow, I think I will give myself the afternoon, or most thereof, off studying and start again in the evening, whereupon I get to become sick of the Rules of Professional Conduct and (more likely) everything to do with Trust Accounts.

I have done hardly any handwork over the last few days. I mended my slippers (one of my toes has managed to hole my birthday slippers already) and a top I haven't worn for ages (because it was in the mending pile). The slipper now has a scar at one toe. It has been suggested that I embroidery or otherwise decorate the scar, but I don't know if I will. I kinda like how it looks.

[livejournal.com profile] darthsappho did good things to [livejournal.com profile] tamarillow's computer - it now has 50g of storage space. She tried to do good things to Jack, but Jack doesn't like being touched and had a temporary fit of the keyboard not working. Alessan helped me sort it out, but this is Jack's third keyboard (he fried the first after I installed a new DVD reader and I fried the second with tea), so it wouldn't have suprised me, although it would have annoyed me, if he'd fried this one, too. But no, the $5 keyboard from Cash Converters is still working.

My cat is asleep, or pretending to be, at the end of my bed. I should also go to bed. I'm not going to have my cellphone on me tomorrow, since they're really paranoid about that at the Law Society, or so I hear.
