While I'm vaguely awake, I'll update this.

After Halloween and Anna bringing in cakes to the office since she said it was her birthday, we organised going to Russia. I don't know why, but I thought we'd take the train. I was forgetting about my coporation's extensive reach and Lear Jet.

Train? Yeah, right.

It's much easier to be unnoticed on a train, though.

We got organised. This time, we remembered our tac coms and useful things like truth serum and organising getting submachine guns (SMGs) delievered to us when we arrived in Moscow. We were taking Jason with us, and it occured to Damien that Jason might be a good person to take with us when we interrogated this man. We weren't exactly talking about letting him live. Damien requested a bottle of wine and a corkscrew. We did end up drinking the wine, but more about that later.

A great deal of time was spent organising ourselves, actually. But at lenght, we arrived in Moscow and were greeted by Umbrella's people there. Anna being the only one of us who is fluent in Russian (my next language to learn, presumably), she did most of the explaining, about Jason and retriving the SMGs. Damien did want to make his up then and there, but we decided to go onto Vladisvostok straight away and use the jet to get there. We convinced him to wait to set up the guns.

Seeing as the guy who had hired Carnby to kill me was a decent stockbroker, we had had a fake bank account made up for us - Luck Unlimited or something like that - and after they'd checked it out, we made an afternoon appointment for the next day. This being Russia in winter, it was kinda nasty outside. We wore lots of stuff.

We called the place where he lived and made a late appointment to check out an appartment there. I put on a great deal of makeup to meet with Grayle and did my hair differently. Jason didn't think he recognised me straight away. Then we went and hired an appartment in cash for a week and planned how we were going to abduct Grayle.

After all our suggestions, it was done smoothly. I nudged the security guard into sleep enough for Anna to slip in and chloroform him. We then took the key to Grayle's room from the locked case, using the guard's key to get into that. Grayle woke up for a bit when we first tried to sneak in and it took him a while to go back to sleep properly. After that, I put him firmly to sleep and got the security chain off the door. We chloroformed him too, and took his place apart, as though he was going on holiday. Damien circled a random date in his calender for next month.

That reminds me. Christmas is a month and a half away. I need to get Daniel something good for Christmas. And Andre and Yvonne, too, but Daniel is the important one.

We were thorough. Tipped part of a bottle of vodka over him and escorted our 'drunk' friend out to his car, which we then drove off to the dry dock we chose for the interrogation. We even remembered to return his key to the office and steal the DVD recordings of the hallways for the week beforehand, making sure that it looked like it was still recording.

The guy was very good. He didn't recognise me and that seemed to be the truth. Anna and I could tell that Grayle was lying but we couldn't tell how to make him tell the truth. Seriously. I'm really good at reading people's body language and I was getting more from that than from magically testing him! Eventually, after Damien stuck the corkscrew in his big toe and screwed it in and Hilda sent him into delirium because he couldn't handle vines suddenly growing and twining around him, we called an Umbrella interrogation team.

I watched. I felt I had to, since I couldn't do it and it was my call. Damien watched too. He started drinking before I did. It wasn't pretty. We were basically watching the guy get electrocuted in the head until he started talking. It took about an hour and a half and at the end he would tell us anything - so long as it wasn't too complicated. We got the pin to his card too!

Then we got a lift back to the hotel (the only hotel with any class and no hookers outside in Vladisvostok) and Damien, Hilda and I got drunk. Jason went and watched Russian chicks in the shower. I know it's a natural thing for a seventeen year old Wraith to do, but seriously, if he was my son, I'd thwack him around the ears, thank you very much! When we got back, he would join the Necropolis there.

After we returned to Moscow, Chelsea contacted us. Since we were planning to go to this do that Soran (I think that's how you spell his name), who was Grayle's superior, was organising to do with the Russian Mafia and anyone else important, could we do this small mission for Umbrella in return? Like we could say no.

Apparently, Soran, for all his pretentions to be the last of the old Russian aristocracy, is getting into the occult and demon worshipping. Makes me wonder what happened to that thing that was hidden somewhere around the coven that you could feel a hundred metres off. Makes me wonder where it is now and hope that it's locked out in the deep umbra far away from us all. Damien was skeptical about demonology, but I was freaked enough to concern him.

Anyhow, Umbrella have received reports that he's building a secret room in his mansion for occult purposes and they want photos - from a camera that they implant into your eye. Ick. I said I'd do it. So did Hilda. The other thing is that they want this patch placed on the underside of his computer.

So we have three missions for this meeting, really. We also have to see how he reacts to seeing me, and I'm supposed to be dead! We'll be there as mid-level executives rather than an elite strike force.

Apart from all the associated anxiety, I'm looking forward to this ball. I like dressing up.

Next part is here
