From Marna at the LMB mailing list, upon watching Da Vinci's Inquest.

Opening clip of tonight's episode:

Vancouver docks. Okay. Nice to see Vancouver getting to play Vancouver
for a change, increases the camera angle options. Haven't seen the
offices of that respected old BC law firm Cylon, Dalek and Pod all season.
(Those of you who watch the SciFi channel? You know the building.)

Corpse. Sure. Cop show, corpse, yep.

Coroner: Yep, right channel.

Cop: also a highly suitable thing to be seeing, one feels.

Octopus on the body: righto, um, wait --

Octopus?
Well, a septopus, actually. As the coroner notes.

They had a whole argument about it and everything. Practically gave it a
little octopodian post mortem, right there on the beach.

"Five, six, seven. Yep. Well, there's a thing. What d'you think, you
think maybe there was some kind of accident here, some kind of trauma?"

"I dunno, maybe it's, whadaya call it, congenital, maybe it had an
accident, I dunno, you gonna give me a hand here, maybe get this thing
off the body?"

I could so see that happening on a CSI episode set close enough to the coast. So I've only watched the original. Sue me.

Was vaguely planning on watching televison tonight and doing embroidery, but gave up. Got bored with The Simpsons and the light isn't good enough in the lounge for embroidery. I may yet go back in with a book and have the box on as background noise while my washing drys under the influence of the gas heater.

I was asked (and agreed) to work Saturday this week. And six days next week, so long as I can have Sunday off. Tomorrow's going to be horrible (all those people leaving from the game tonight) and next week we have the official Qualmark assessment. Fun for all concerned, except the ones it stresses out.

Also, I lack reading material of the online fannish type.

EDIT: I updated MSN recently and accidentally changed my homepage to Xtra. It was set to Livejournal and I don't know how to change it back. Help, anyone?

Hi. The original CSI is the best one, Miami was alright, but NY is crap, but it's better than "Lost". I'm heading down to see Batman Begins on Sunday, you want to come along?. Otherwise I'll probably see you at James' this week, you should pop in and see him, for a while anyway. Have a good week.

Have only watched the original and one episode of Miami, so I'm in no position to judge. I was vaguely going to watch CSI:NY tonight, but got distracted by my book. The Callahan Chronicles by Spider Robinson. They date a bit (late 70s onwards), but are still very good. [livejournal.com profile] laputain would appreciate the punning.

I'm working Saturday after all (I was asked and said yes before my brain kicked into gear), so I'm going to want Sunday for church and relaxing before a killer week. I have directions, so I'll be at [livejournal.com profile] margrave_yuri's party.

Ahh, fair enough, I'll see you there I guess. Tonight was an Ok episode, they had "Spatula man" and "Crash Test Dummy" girl.

Spatula Man was seriously the Best Body Eva.

And [livejournal.com profile] maudlinrose and I have total love for the NY coroner after he actually bought a spatula along.

Yea but Doc Robbins from the original series has not one, but TWO prosthetic legs, (irl!) that's the modern equivelent of a wooden leg, and who had wooden legs? PIRATES!!! and pirates are the coolest thing ever, and it has been geekifically proven (by us at a Pirates vs Ninjas party) that Pirates are cooler and more popular than Ninjas.

Check the CSI sites through CBS.com, they're quite cool, nice detail on the characters and actors.

Someone around must have photos of that P V N party somewhere Nisha'. I should get them.
