Went to Armageddon today. Managed not to have a panic attack in the morning, what with all the crowds, although it was a close thing at times, and my knees felt rather wobbly for a while. Felt much better after I saw [livejournal.com profile] anschee and [livejournal.com profile] darthsappho, and the latters' height and hair colouring made them easier to find, which helped. I also managed to walk out without buying too much.

Jewel Staite's signature now adorns my Serenity poster, and she was also pretty and interesting to listen to. Needs more practice at conventions, but that will come. I did buy five books which weren't on my list of things to buy, but Graphics had a table, and the novels were $2 per book, which I initially thought was a misprint, but it wasn't, so I bought five. Blood and Memory by Fiona McIntosh, since I have the first one; The Treasured One by David and Leigh Eddings - it's #2 of The Dreamers, but hey, I figure I'll end up with all of their books eventually. Only have about seven to go. Eternity Row by S L Viehl, #5 Stardoc series. I only have #1 already, but the rest will come, with time and patience. I also bought both books of The Sarantine Mosaic by Guy Gavriel Kay, since they're probably my favourites of his. If I wasn't currently culling my collection, I'd be out of room to shelve these. I have 641 fiction, according to my catalogue.

Didn't find volumes #1 & #2 of Marmalade Boy, but [livejournal.com profile] lyraethe's flatmate has offered to sell me both of them for $20, and you can't usually find manga for that price anywhere. Also, it will complete my set. I'll have no money, but oh, well. I resisted buying any manga of Full Metal Alchemist, because I like the anime better, and I resisted buying the anime because there wasn't a boxed set, and I can't afford it.

I am currently recovering from the large numbers of people by sitting in my room, covering C's hardcover books with dustjackets, drinking a pot of chai, while reading various fic that I have saved to my hard drive. The only annoying thing about this is that gmail currently isn't working for me. Is anyone else having this problem, or have any suggestions to fix it? This started last night, and is still going, so retarting the computer doesn't work, and I'm not sure what else to try.

Oh! And, the electrician came today and fixed the fourth element on our stove top! We can cook using all of our stove now! Also, there is left over double chocolate brownie from last night, and it is goooood (which it damn well should be, since it has a block of cooking chocolate and a lot of butter in it).
