So, went to WARGS last night, and played Zoe in the Serenity RPG that was running. There were transportable livestock, er. Fish. Livefish. And crocodiles. With explosives. It was fun.

Most memorable line:

Mal: Doc, I want you in my bunk NOW!!*

Also (as I remember it):

Zoe: Captain, there are explosives in one of the crocodiles.

Mal: *slightly stunned* Plural?

Zoe: The crocodiles or the explosives, sir?

Mal: Either.

Zoe: Both, sir.

Work was good yesterday - finished shortly after three, and went for coffee with Ishita. And since I'd vaguely planned to, I stuck around in town, bought trashy romances, one of which is trashy, but has vampires, and the other was a Karen Hawkins, so that's okay.

Today - not so good. As Zlata said in the morning, it's eased off. However, this means we're only getting fourteen, fifteen or sixteen rooms per pair, instead of eighteen or nineteen or twenty. And just to continue with that theme, my partner and I got sixteen rooms, ten of which were checkouts. This sucked bigtime. Also, the staff lift was broken until about 2pm, which was so incredibly annoying, I cannot accurately describe it.

Then of course, just to make me feel happy and joyous about my day, I was pulling one of the trolleys along the corridor, bumped my ankle into the parked (but angled out) collection trolley. However, I couldn't stop the big trolley in time, and so it banged quite nicely onto my ankle. It bruised immediately, and there's a decent sized lump there, too. I spent the rest of the day hopping around, before filling out an incident report and taking an incredibly full bus home. Whereupon I strapped the foot, iced it, and elevated it. Even so, I rather think I'll take the day off work tomorrow. It's still sore, I don't feel like working, and people will understand. Besides, if I take tomorrow off, I'll have three days off in a row, and that has to be good for it, right?

Oh yes, and for those of you who are SG1 fans, I borrowed some Patti Smith cds off my gm. On the cd Easter, there is a track entitled 'Space Monkey'. I find this highly amusing. I have just realised that C. sent me the link for librarything three weeks ago, and I'm checking it out now (and using it, since cataloguing is cool) because [livejournal.com profile] anschee raved about it...

*This was in response to the heavily wounded man there.
