Roleplaying last night was very dramatic and lots of fun. Afterwards, I had this refrain running in my head: "We got her back!" and Mash would counterpoint to that: "And I didn't get shot." The final scene from last night went roughly as follows:

Played Ultimate Frisbee this evening, and was taken out by friendly fire. The frisbee hit the right lens of my glasses (I think), and smashed either the frames or the frisbee or both into my face. I'm getting a nicely dramatic black eye already. I've put ice on it, and arnica, so I'll see how it looks tomorrow morning. My glasses are knocked out of alignment, making it hard to see even with them on, so they're off, and I'm dealing with the headache. I took advantage of the nifty camera feature on my phone, and the bluetooth device, so a picture is available.

I got my x-ray back today. I feel remarkably bright. Not.

Evidently, I managed to get a tiny flake fracture on my hand on Monday. I'm kinda surprised and kinda not. I mean, the doctor reckoned that it most likely wasn't broken. On the other hand it being broken explains why it's been hurting so much. Low level pain that I wouldn't worry about - if it wasn't strapped.

Anyhow, strapped properly for the next ten days. I'm to strenously avoid getting it wet and light duties only at work. Zlata offered to have me off and all sorts of concerned things, especially since it happened at work (and we're all kinda bemused at the fact that it's actually fractured) and I've been asked to suggest ways to avoid it happening to anyone else.

Expensive room was going to sell for $2000 per night for three nights, but in the end, the person couldn't nake it and called at 8.30pm to cancel. They paid a cancellation fee (I wonder how much it was) and it's on offer again tonight. Didn't get a chance to have a look through it, alas. The one time that we had a chance, people were being shown through it. It's expected to sell.

Am still trying to work out what rpg I want to be in now that Winter Wolf is finished. Am considering G's In Nominae game, because the world looks cool, but other than that... *shrugs* Maybe I'll go to games club or something.

Saw the Mordavia article on TV3 last night. I thought the commentator was reasonably balanced, and there were some awesome costumed shots.

[livejournal.com profile] maudlinrose, another letter from the IRD has arrived for you here. They really don't appreciate the fact that you've changed your address, do they?

Am avoiding putting away all the Tamora Pierce books I was going to be using to find out their copyright dates before I realised that that information was actually on my catalogue. I feel bright. I have a few books to read - Wheel of the Infinate by Martha Wells and Jack: A Life of C. S. Lewis by George Sayer, but I don't actually feel like reading. Finished Good Omens earlier tonight.

If G. runs In Nominae, an angels/demons rpg, and I play in it, I imagine Good Omens will have massively influenced my thinking and decisions on my character.

My hand still hurts. Had it x-rayed this afternoon, after work. They don't think it's broken, but I still got to inexpertly strap it afterwards. I had been wanting to take the strapping off and straighten it until I did and it hurt. That cured me of that particular notion. Only light duties at work, which meant I did dusting, played messenger girl (this involved walking up most of the sixteen flights of stairs) and finished off by ironing a guest's shirts. Lesley was most impressed at how I folded them, in my best retail salesgirl manner.

I have been taking panadol four hourly, but to make matters worse, it's also that time of the month for me. Assuming that I'm not doing anything on Sunday besides either church or collapsing, I think I'll call my gyne. This is not the right time for it; I'm week late again. I want to see Nightline or whatever it's called on TV3, since I think the Mordavia people are in it, and TV1 has been advertising something at 9.30pm which I'm vaguely curious about. Except I want to go to bed.

I'm going to be seeing my Dad and my sister within days of each other. Dad's down here Friday week for a meeting (I need to tell Zlata, so I can finish early that day) and J. and C. should be staying here Saturday night, so I can drag them along to church on Sunday. I called them both last night. J. was watching the Test the Nation Show and asked me what the massive rush of people was called when the bars used to close at six. I told her, but managed to refrain from commenting on Gerald Durrell's experience with it. I felt this was wise.

I might go do stuff with my Winter Wolf entries.
