I have new lenses (and only one pair of glasses) now. The dry ache in my eyes disappeared pretty much as soon as I put them on, which goes to show what a difference a new prescription makes. I then spent most of the rest of the day feeling vaguely seasick.
My new lenses are progressive or graduated lenses, which means the reading-glasses part is at the bottom, going up through middle distance (computer work) to distance vision. This means I need to be careful to look through the right part of the glasses for whatever I'm doing and that takes some practice. Stairs are rather scary.
Apparently, my nose is supposed to be at the top of my monitor in order to look at it correctly. I've fixed my work one, but the home desktop still needs doing. Maybe tomorrow night - I have a feeling this is going to require me rearranging my desk.
However, all this is much better than the headaches and tiredness. I'm sure I will get used to the looking the right way through things in due course. In the meantime, I shall hold tight to stair railings and not look down.
fajrdrako linked to the new trailer for Doctor Who: The Water of Mars. It looks kinda awesome. Scary (like Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead scary), but awesome.
